‍The challenge of trocar-site fascia closure in laparoscopic surgery

​Laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery uses small abdominal incisions to introduce trocars and surgical instruments.  While this approach offers significant benefits for patients, reliable closure of the trocar-site fascia remains technically challenging.  Limited access, restricted visibility, and the elasticity of fascia tissue can make closure difficult, potentially prolonging procedure time and increasing the risk of postoperative complications.
